October 17, 2007 News Release

Oct 17, 2007

(Halifax, Canada):  Safe Harbour Security announced today, its intention to launch and demonstrate the unique features and benefits of verified video at Canada’s premiere security trade show and exposition, Security Canada Central, October 17-18, 2007 in Toronto.  The Videofied wireless video security system will be on display at the Safe Harbour Security booth # 915 at the Toronto Congress Centre, and featured in the New Product Showcase, presented by the Canadian Security Association (CANASA).

“We were blown away by a demo of the product at last year’s security show in the U.S. and that exposure convinced us to bring the product to Canada,” said Donnie Snow, President & CEO of Safe Harbour Security.  “The ability to quickly identify ‘crimes in progress’ gives our central monitoring station enhanced capability and competitive advantage.  Our Affiliate dealers and their customers will enjoy greater security and peace of mind, knowing that video verified alarms receive a faster response from law enforcement because they are treated like as a crime in progress”.

Snow continued, “We see video verified alarms as the next generation of intrusion alarm systems and are pleased to be able to distribute the product across Canada, for the benefit of our Affiliate Dealer network and their customers.  We expect our customers will experience fewer false alarms, late night phone calls and expensive fines, when Videofied is deployed.  The ability to install video security in sites where there is no power or communication wires is also unique.”

Keith Jentoft, President of RSI Alarm, and manufacturer of Videofied, added, “Video verification offer great value to security and alarm dealers, customer and monitoring stations.  It is also recognized as a valuable way to increase law enforcement efficiency and reduce response times.  The Videofied system was created in Europe to combat false dispatch problems and improve police response, and there are now more than 70,000 systems installed worldwide.  Canada is next to benefit from this unique technology.  The new TOTALLY wireless system that uses the cell network opens up new applications such as construction sites where there is no A/C power or communications.”

Videofied technology (Fig. 1-a) ensures privacy as the camera is ONLY activated during an alarm and features military-grade encryption technology. Videofied systems deliver ten-second video clips to central stations of what triggered the alarm, and can also deliver a copy of the video via e-mail to parents or business owners. Central station operators with no DVR training can immediately see what triggered an alarm and send a video file to police. Parents and business owners can be alerted on their mobile device with a ten-second clip of the current situation at their home or office.   The entire system is self-powered with 4 year battery life and can deliver alarms and video over Rogers’ cell network for TOTALLY wireless operation.

Videofied system is built around a patented P-Cam, which combines a PIR (Passive Infrared motion sensor) with an innovative night vision video camera and provides 4 year battery life.

S2VIEW (Spread Spectrum, Videofied, Interactive, Encrypted, Wireless) technology is the heart of the Videofied alarm system. S2VIEW is a 2-way 915 MHz 25-channel spread spectrum radio with 128 bit military AES encryption. Combining powerful wireless communications with high-grade encryption, S2VIEW enables rapid, secure delivery of video to the monitoring station along with the alarm.  VIA-Pro alarm systems offer homeowners the same level of protection that banks, jewelry stores, and shopping malls receive, while protecting their privacy.
